Tiptap Cloud is a 📝Tiptap product that hosts the backend services behind Tiptap's rich-text editor, including real-time collaboration, comments, document storage with version history, and AI extensions, as managed infrastructure in the US or EU. It grew out of Tiptap Collab, the company's hosted version of its open-source Hocuspocus server, which syncs edits between users through the Yjs CRDT framework. Berlin-based Tiptap raised a $2.6 million seed round led by 📝Expa, with 📝Y Combinator participating, in 2023, and shipped the stable Tiptap 3.0 editor in 2025. Tiptap Cloud is for product teams that want collaborative editing inside their own apps without running sync servers themselves. Pricing is based on stored documents, from a Start plan at $49 per month billed annually through Team, Business, and Enterprise tiers, with on-premises deployment reserved for Enterprise.
We ran the 📝MythOS editor on Tiptap Cloud in 2025, upgrading from v2 to v3 that November, a change logged in our 📝Q4 2025 Change Log. The editor has since moved to 📝Lexical.

Getting Started
- Create a Tiptap account and open the Cloud dashboard at cloud.tiptap.dev.
- Choose a Start, Team, Business, or Enterprise plan based on stored documents.
- Install the Tiptap Editor and its Collaboration extension in your app.
- Connect the editor to your Cloud app with its app ID and a signed JWT.
- Add Comments or AI extensions, then manage documents through the REST API.
