Mythos

Harvey is a privately held artificial-intelligence platform built for legal and professional-services work, founded in 2022. It applies large language models to the document-heavy tasks that fill a lawyer's day — contract analysis, compliance review, due diligence, and litigation research — and sells to law firms, in-house legal departments, and professional-services organizations. As of September 2026 its products were reported in use by more than 100,000 lawyers across roughly 1,300 organizations.

Harvey was started by Winston Weinberg, then a securities and antitrust litigator at O'Melveny & Myers, and Gabriel Pereyra, a research scientist who had worked at 📝DeepMind and Meta. The two were roommates in Los Angeles when Pereyra showed Weinberg GPT-3 and they began mapping it onto legal workflows. 📝OpenAI's Startup Fund wrote the company's first check in November 2022, one of that fund's first four investments; Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and GIC followed. Its valuation climbed from $8 billion in December 2025 to $11 billion in March 2026, then to $15.6 billion in September 2026 on a $550 million round co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Diffusion, raised to fund in-house model development. Its closest competitor is the Swedish firm Legora, valued at $5.6 billion in April 2026; both build on foundation models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google rather than training their own.
