Most are generations of the 📝Grok language model; as of September 28, 2026, xAI — rebranded SpaceXAI in July 2026 — ships Grok 4.7 as its flagship.

Grok 4

Grok 4.7 — grok-4.7, released September 21, 2026: the current flagship, built on a larger base model, with a 500K-token context window at $2 / $6 per million tokens.
Grok 4.6 — grok-4.6, released August 12, 2026: the previous flagship, available through the API, 📝Cursor, 📝GitHub Copilot, and Amazon Bedrock.
Grok 4.5 — grok-4.5, released July 8, 2026: launched on the xAI API, Grok Build, and Cursor, with EU access following July 17.
Grok 4.3 — grok-4.3, beta April 17, 2026 and full API rollout April 30: a 1M-token-context model at $1.25 / $2.50 per million tokens.
Grok 4.20 — grok-4.20-0309, beta February 2026 and API March 10, 2026: offered in reasoning, non-reasoning, and multi-agent versions, the last running several agents in parallel.
Grok 4.1 and Grok 4.1 Fast — released November 17, 2025: improved reasoning and fewer hallucinations, with a Fast variant tuned for tool calling.
Grok 4 Fast — released September 19, 2025: a cheaper Grok 4 with a 2M-token context window, blending reasoning and quick-response modes.
Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy — released July 9, 2025: xAI's first flagship with native tool use, with Heavy running multiple agents on a $300-per-month tier.

Grok 3 and Earlier

Grok 3 and Grok 3 mini — released February 17, 2025: trained with roughly ten times Grok 2's compute and adding a reasoning mode and DeepSearch.
Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini — released August 2024: added image understanding and image generation, first through Black Forest Labs' Flux.
Grok-1.5 — announced March 2024 and released May 15, 2024: extended context to 128K tokens with stronger reasoning; the Grok-1.5V vision preview was never released.
Grok-1 — released November 3, 2023 to X Premium subscribers: xAI's first model, a 314-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts network.

Coding

grok-build-0.1 — 2026: the agentic coding model behind the Grok Build terminal agent, with a 256K-token context window at $1 / $2 per million tokens.
Grok Code Fast 1 — released August 28, 2025: xAI's first coding-specialized model, built for fast, low-cost agentic coding, since deprecated.

Open-Weight

Grok 2.5 weights — published August 2025 on Hugging Face: the roughly 270-billion-parameter Grok 2.5 under a custom community license that bars using it to train other models.
Grok-1 weights — published March 17, 2024 under the Apache 2.0 license.

Image and Video

Grok Imagine — launched July 2025: image and short-video generation in the Grok apps, now offered in the API as grok-imagine-image, grok-imagine-image-2.0, and grok-imagine-video-1.5.
Aurora — released December 9, 2024: xAI's first in-house text-to-image model, replacing Flux inside Grok.

Voice

Grok Voice — grok-voice-think-fast-2.0: xAI's speech-to-speech model for real-time voice agents, alongside speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs.
