Glide (originally Glide Apps) is a no-code platform for building business-application interfaces — internal tools, customer portals, lightweight CRMs, and the like — directly from spreadsheet data, founded in 2018 by Jason Smith, David Siegel, Mark Probst, and Antonio Garcia Aprea and incubated at Y Combinator.
Glide originally launched as a way to generate fully functioning mobile apps from Google Sheets, with each row becoming an item, each tab becoming a screen, and basic relational logic surfaced through a visual editor. The company has since broadened into a more general no-code application builder that supports multiple data backends (Google Sheets, Excel/OneDrive, Airtable, Glide Tables, Snowflake, BigQuery, and others), workflow automation, role-based access controls, and AI-assisted features for both end-user search and builder-side app generation. The 2024 release of Glide AI repositioned the platform as a builder for AI-native internal applications rather than only spreadsheet-driven ones.
