The Honest Version

I want to be direct about something: 📝Anthropic named their next model the same thing as the platform I've been building since 2017. 📝MythOS — the knowledge management system, the narrative operating system, the thing I've poured years into — now shares a name with one of the most anticipated AI models in the world.

And I'm still excited about it.

Not in spite of the situation. Not with caveats or hedging. Genuinely excited. Here's why.

What Anthropic Has Made Possible

Before 📝Claude Code, I didn't write code. I'd spent a decade building systems — companies, processes, organizations — but the actual writing of software was something I left to engineers. Claude Code changed that. It didn't just lower the bar. It removed the bar.

In the last year, I've:

Rebuilt MythOS from scratch as a v3 — full Next.js application with MongoDB, Supabase Auth, Stripe billing, and a Lexical editor
Built a 57+ agent ecosystem coordinated through a custom task API
Shipped 📝Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that let 📝Claude read and write to my knowledge library
Published an MCP package to npm that anyone can install
Designed and deployed a multi-stage content pipeline where agents discover, research, draft, analyze, and publish knowledge autonomously

None of this would exist in its current form without Anthropic's models. Every line was written in collaboration with Claude. The platform that shares a name with their next model was built using their current model.

That's not irony. That's alignment.

What Claude Mythos Means for What We're Building

Each generation of Claude has unlocked new capabilities for MythOS. Claude Sonnet made rapid development possible. Claude Opus made complex architectural decisions reliable. Claude Mythos, if the reported benchmarks hold, represents the next categorical jump.

Specifically, we're excited about:

More reliable multi-agent pipelines: Our memo pipeline — where specialized agents handle different stages of knowledge work — is only as good as the base model powering each agent. Better reasoning means fewer failures, better output, and more ambitious task delegation.

Deeper MCP integration: MythOS as an MCP server becomes more powerful when the model using it gets better at knowing when to search, what to search for, and how to use what it finds. Claude Mythos's sustained reasoning improvements mean longer, more sophisticated knowledge workflows.

AI that understands personal context: The vision behind MythOS is a system where your knowledge compounds. A more capable model brings us closer to AI that doesn't just retrieve your notes but genuinely reasons across your entire knowledge graph — finding connections, surfacing insights, and extending your thinking in ways that feel personal rather than generic.

Faster iteration: A more capable model means less human intervention in the development process itself. For a team of our size, that's the difference between shipping one feature a week and shipping three.

The Bigger Thing

There's a story underneath this that matters more than any specific capability gain.

We live in a moment where the tools are getting good enough that individuals and small teams can build things that previously required large organizations. Not toy projects. Real platforms, real products, real systems that serve real users.

Anthropic is a primary reason this is true. Their models, their tooling, their developer ecosystem — they've created an environment where building ambitious software is accessible to people who think in systems, even if they didn't start as engineers.

Claude Mythos represents the next step in that trajectory. More capability means more ambition is practical. More reliability means more delegation is safe. More reasoning depth means more complex problems are tractable.

For builders, that's not just exciting. It's liberating.

The Name Thing

Yes, they named their model the same thing as our platform. The situation is what it is.

But if I have to share a name with something, I'd rather share it with a frontier AI model built by a company whose tools made my platform possible. The coincidence — or whatever it is — at least puts us in interesting company.

And honestly? When people search for "Mythos" now, they'll find both. An AI model that represents the frontier of machine intelligence. And a platform that represents what you can build when that intelligence is in your hands.

Both stories are worth telling. We intend to keep telling ours.
