Mythos

GallowBoob is the Reddit account of 📝Rob Allam — launched in 2014, once the platform's most prolific poster, with tens of millions of karma and more than fifty moderated subreddits at its peak.

Allam created the account in 2014 while he was an unemployed landscape architect in London, treating 📝Reddit as an experiment in how humor, empathy, and timing moved a community-driven feed. Within a few years GallowBoob had become synonymous with the platform's front page, posting and curating a mix of satire, oddities, and feel-good content that consistently drew tens of millions of daily impressions across r/OddlySatisfying, r/RoastMe, r/Relationship_Advice, and dozens of other subreddits the account moderated.

At its peak the account amassed more than 36 million karma points and made GallowBoob the most-cited individual user in Reddit's recent history. That omnipresence made it as polarizing as it was popular: Allam was profiled by 📝Forbes, Protocol, and KnowYourMeme as both a master of 📝virality and a target of users who saw his frequency as gaming the algorithm. He later stepped back from the platform, citing harassment and the toll of being a public figure inside a pseudonymous community.

My favorite GallowBoob posts are the meta ones — refusing endless Reddit Gold, calling out a domain squatter targeting moderators, and the TIFU about shaving his beard on a flight — moments where the persona breaks character and Rob the person lands clean.
