Objective

Kinky Comedy is a recurring sex-positive stand-up and variety program that centers adult-themed humor, performance, and community engagement. It operates primarily in Los Angeles, CA, where its core shows follow a standard format of an early-evening seating window, a 7 PM performance, and a post-show mixer designed as an open-minded but non-Play Party social space. The Spotlight on Cahuenga in Hollywood serves as its primary venue, with satellite events appearing in cities such as San Diego, CA and Portland. The shows are produced and hosted by comedian Maurice James, with frequent collaboration from Justin Herman. It is an inclusive, curiosity-friendly atmosphere.

Subjective

I found Kinky Comedy through friends in the Consensual Non-Monogamy (CNM) community in LA and have attended it many times since. with most of the lineup being new comedians adapting their normal material to a unique audience, every time the show is different... and every time it's hilarious in a new dimension. I've since become friends with Maurice and have come to learn more about his reason for starting the series (basically that he couldn't stop cracking jokes at orgies, and his friends told him he needed another outlet for such) and him as a human.
