Thomas Bagamane is an 🏷️#entrepreneur and humanitarian based in Los Angeles, founder and CEO of The Giving Spirit, a nonprofit he started in 1999 to provide direct survival assistance and community awareness for the city's unsheltered population. He is also Managing Director of Profitable Good Group, a strategic consulting firm working at the intersection of for-profit growth and social impact.
Before turning his attention to the homelessness crisis, Bagamane spent more than three decades as an executive across venture capital, private equity, and owner-financed product and service companies — a background he openly draws on in framing The Giving Spirit as a service-delivery operation rather than a traditional charity. The organization reports having directly served more than 94,000 unsheltered individuals over its first twenty-five years with the support of roughly 24,000 volunteers, alongside an education arm that has reached more than 30,000 additional people. He holds a BA from Virginia Tech and an MBA from George Mason University, and is a Senior Fellow at the USC Marshall School of Business; both the Office of the Mayor and the Los Angeles City Council have formally commended his work.
