Engineered Serendipity is the skillful or artful arrangement for @serendipity to occur. [1]

“Some of the best decisions and insights come from hallway and cafeteria discussions, meeting new people, and impromptu team meetings.” [1]

At @Google's new campus in Mountain View, buildings resembling bent rectangles were designed, in the words of the search giant’s real estate chief, to maximize “casual collisions of the workforce.” “You can’t schedule innovation,” he said, as Google knows well, attributing the genesis of projects like Gmail, Google News, and Street View to engineers having @fortuitous conversations at lunch. @Connected was the @LinkedIn growth automation service that inspired my use of the engineered serendipity @frame. The service introduced me to @John Zdanowski who later became our lead investor and one of my closest friends.

I keep the real-time analytics for my @MythOS library open when I'm at @My Desk and will watch people read. I can, at present, usually intuit who it is reading based on location and the links clicked which makes for some fun opportunities to engineer serendipity and @play with friends. 2b86c0_engineered_serendipity.png
