Coinbase is a publicly traded cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in the United States. Founded in 2012 by @Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam, it allows users to buy, sell, and store various digital assets, including 📝Bitcoin, 📝Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies. The company operates through both a retail platform for individual consumers and a more advanced trading platform for institutional clients, known as Coinbase Prime. In April 2021, it became the first major cryptocurrency company to go public in the U.S. via a direct listing on the 📝NASDAQ under the ticker symbol COIN. Coinbase has played a central role in shaping mainstream access to digital assets.
