Objective

Vocus is a productivity enhancing #browser-extension which enables users to track email opens and link clicks, automate "gentle reminder" followups, schedule email send times, insert snippets of repetitively used text, and more. [1]

The extension can be customized to automatically expand a keyword into a link, phrase, sentence, or entire template email. This eliminates the need for repetitive typing of various messages and responses like introductions, common answers, signatures, product lists, etc. [2] Snippets can be accessed by typing a forward-slash followed by the name of the snippet.

While templates will be alluring to sales teams, it’s often more effective to automate the insertion of smaller snippets. The lengthier the inserted text, the narrower its window of relevance will be. Therefore, it is better to create snippets for links, phrases, and paragraphs which can act as building blocks for the conversation. (See: Contextual Augmentation)
