Jordan Peterson is a Canadian clinical 🏷️#psychologist and former professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. His research has focused on abnormal, social, and personality psychology, with particular interest in the psychology of religious and ideological belief and in the assessment and improvement of personality and performance.
Peterson's first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, drew on multiple academic fields to describe systems of belief and myth and their role in regulating emotion and creating meaning. His second book, 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, was released in January 2018. In 2016 he published a series of YouTube videos opposing aspects of Canada's Bill C-16 — content that attracted both significant support and significant criticism, and which positioned him as a central figure of the 📝Intellectual Dark Web.
My thoughts on Peterson are still formulating — I haven't directly engaged with his work yet, only encountered it secondhand through 📝Meaningwave and conversations with friends.
