ICV Group (ICV) is an impact investment firm founded in 2014 by 📝Robert Smith to connect family offices and institutional investors with opportunities that create social impact alongside financial return. It organizes its work around three business lines: asset management, catalytic philanthropy, and convening.
Smith founded ICV after more than two decades on Wall Street in institutional sales and trading, where he built equity capital markets and international equities businesses at boutique investment banks and took part in more than 200 public offerings and private placements. Having seen that most investment banks underserved family offices, and that those offices had a strong appetite for impact, he set out to build an investment bank that would give half of its profits to a foundation supporting causes around the world. As of 2026, ICV's former website redirects to Conscious Capital, an investment and philanthropy platform with offices in Zürich, New York, and Philadelphia that also features Smith.
Robert and I met and found resonance in the idea that as consumers and investors become more conscious of what's in their products, where they come from, and where they go, every product in every category needs to be reinvented.
