Mythos

Tone is the low-level resting tension in a muscle, which the work aims to make even rather than high or absent.

Some tissue is always on; some will not come on when it is asked. In 📝Postural / Structural Realignment both are pattern findings: a 📝holding pattern at rest, or a line that will not share standing. The word is not a diagnosis of hypertonia, hypotonia, or a neurological disease. Dramatic, new, or one-sided change in tone with weakness belongs with licensed care.

Clients feel it as a muscle that will not let go, or as one they cannot find. Work doses contact and then a small task so the tissue can both quiet and participate. Forcing a dead muscle to fire, or stretching a locked one harder, is usually the wrong lever.
