Ischemic compression is 📝sustained pressure held on a point until the tenderness eases, named for briefly reducing local blood flow.
In 📝Trigger Point Therapy the thumbs, elbow, or a tool settle on the nodule and stay — often 30 to 90 seconds — while the person breathes. The name is historical; the session claim is that the point quiets, not that tissue has been starved as a medical event. Pressure stays in a breathable range, usually about a 6 or 7 out of 10. Above that the body guards and the hold is wasted. This is not 📝Sustained Pressure as a fascial melt, and it is not needling.
Clients feel a deep, specific ache that should ease, not sharpen. If it sharpens, numbness, or panics, the contact comes off.
