Pressure release is graded, gentler pressure held on a point until it softens, a lighter form of 📝ischemic compression.
The hands meet the nodule, wait, and add only what the tissue will take. In 📝Trigger Point Therapy this is the default when the person is new, guarded, or already near the edge of tolerance. It is still a hold, not a rub, and not a promise that less pressure always equals less change. If nothing yields, the practitioner may stay longer rather than press harder.
Clients feel a specific ache they can breathe through. Jumping, numbness, or panic is a stop. After the point quiets, the muscle is lengthened so the band does not re-form.
