Mat work is the whole session happening on a firm floor mat rather than a table.
The floor lets the practitioner use feet, body weight, and long stretches that a table cannot hold. In πThai Bodywork getting down and up is part of the form. If the receiver cannot get to the floor, the work is adapted; it is not a test of fitness. Mat work is a setting, not a diagnosis, and not a claim that floor work is medically superior.
Clients feel the ground. Knees, hips, or a back that cannot tolerate the floor get props or a skip, not a lecture. Dizziness on standing is a pause.
