Mythos

Maze Felix is a queer, trans non-binary Asian American transracial adoptee, advocate, and community builder. Born in Yang Zhou, China, they were adopted at the age of two and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Maze holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science from The Ohio State University and pursued further studies in American Sign Language interpreting. Their work emphasizes access, equity, intersectionality, solidarity, and community care. Maze has been actively involved with the adoption community, serving as a board member of an adoptee-run non-profit organization in Columbus, Ohio. They have contributed public reflections on the complexities of identity, belonging, and racialized experience, notably through the piece To All My Fellow Asian American Adoptees: Your Pain Is Valid, shared via KAAN (Korean American Adoptee Adoptive Family Network). In their personal life, Maze enjoys music, hiking, yoga, and caring for their guinea pigs.

Maze is a delightful human and a close friend. Beyond their public advocacy, what strikes me most is their warmth and the nuance they bring into every conversation—balancing vulnerability with a deep, thoughtful resilience. Their reflections on identity, grief, and belonging have not only resonated with me but have also expanded my understanding of what it means to hold space for oneself and others in layered, intersectional realities. Maze models a kind of quiet leadership that does not seek the spotlight but nonetheless becomes a beacon for those navigating similarly complex paths.
