Eric Sapp is a serial #entrepreneur, faith leader, and political advisor. Sapp has spent his career supporting communities all over the world in their efforts to promote the common good.
Eric lives in northern Virginia with his wife and their son and daughter. Eric is a woodworker and enjoys trying to become a less horrible player of the irish whistle that he took up when his son was born. Eric's favorite place in the world is fishing the backwaters south of Naples, FL. Sports were central to his life and identity through college. After almost taking a very different career path of coaching, ministry, and sculpture, Eric is now realizing a piece of that early calling as he seeks to instill joy, confidence, and love of team in 5 & 7 year olds through coaching his kids' teams.
Eric was born in Durham, NC, spent most of his growing up years in Naples and then Miami, FL. Eric and his wife, Julie, started dating in high school. Eric graduated from Davidson College and earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University. Both he and Julie have lived in the D.C. region longer than any other in their lives and consider it home.
Eric co-founded Common Good Strategies, later the Eleison Group, where he led outreach to faith, veterans, and rural communities for top Democratic candidates in 2006 and 2008. He has since pioneered the use of new technologies in campaigns on issues ranging from international peacekeeping and human rights to grassroots efforts supporting veterans and protecting victims of terrorism. Through these efforts, his team developed one of the largest voter response databases and most sophisticated digital advertising platforms in the country, which in 2018 became a Public Benefit Corporation called Public Democracy.
