Broadcasts are one-time emails sent directly to your 📝MythOS Newsletters subscribers — independent of any memo update. Use them for announcements, personal notes, product updates, or anything that should reach your audience but doesn't belong in a memo.
How It Works
Broadcasts live at Settings > Newsletter > Broadcasts. You compose a message, choose who receives it, preview the recipient count, and send. The email goes out as a single delivery — it's not tied to a memo, not triggered by a content change, and not subject to the change threshold that gates automatic notifications.
Each broadcast is styled with the same email template as digest notifications, maintaining visual consistency for your subscribers.
Sending a Broadcast
- Compose — write a subject line and body using the 📝Lexical rich text editor. Full formatting: bold, italic, links, lists, headings
- Target — send to all subscribers or filter by a specific newsletter topic
- Preview — the system shows the exact recipient count before you commit
- Confirm — a confirmation modal displays the recipient count and audience segment. Click to send
- Delivery — the broadcast queues and delivers asynchronously. The history table updates with delivery status
Broadcast History
Every broadcast you send appears in a history table below the editor showing:
- Subject — the email subject line
- Audience — "All subscribers" or the specific topic targeted
- Recipients — number of emails sent
- Status — queued, delivered, or failed
- Date — when the broadcast was sent
If delivery stalls for more than five minutes, a Retry button appears so you can re-trigger without recomposing.
When to Use Broadcasts vs. Memo Updates
- Memo update — you wrote or substantially edited a memo. Subscribers who follow that topic receive it automatically based on the change threshold. This is the default distribution path
- Broadcast — you want to say something that isn't a memo. A personal note, a product announcement, a one-time message. Broadcasts give you a direct channel without creating content in your library
The two channels are complementary. Memo updates distribute your knowledge work. Broadcasts distribute everything else.
