Mythos

The MythOS Editor is the writing surface at the heart of 📝MythOS — a 📝Lexical-powered markdown editor built for structured knowledge creation, AI collaboration, and public publishing.

How It Works

Every memo in MythOS is written in the editor — a rich text environment where @mentions create knowledge graph connections, hashtags declare collection membership, and slash commands insert templates, images, and embeds. The editor saves as markdown, renders as formatted content, and preserves structure across every surface: web, mobile, 📝MCP, and API.

📝Daily memos use the same editor with a journal-specific structure: a Tasks checklist and Timeline section created fresh each day.

Key Capabilities

  • 📝Daily Memo — a journal entry created each day with Tasks checklist and Timeline structure
  • 📝Memo Feed — all memos sorted by most recently created or edited
  • 📝Mention — clickable @reference links between memos that form the knowledge graph
  • 📝Tagging — hashtags that declare collection membership and connect memos by topic
  • 📝Editor Toolbar — floating toolbar with text formatting, block structure, alignment, links, and image controls
  • 📝Slash Commands — type / to insert templates, images, embeds, tables, and callouts
  • 📝Keyboard Shortcuts — keyboard shortcuts for fast navigation and editing
  • 📝Sharing — control memo visibility: public, link, or private
  • 📝Collaboration — invite collaborators to co-create memos

Thoughts

The editor is where MythOS lives or dies. Every other feature — communities, newsletters, MCP, the knowledge graph — depends on the writing experience being good enough that people actually create memos. Lexical gave us the foundation: lightweight, markdown-native, and extensible. Everything built on top — @mentions, templates, slash commands — exists to make structured knowledge creation feel as natural as freewriting.
