Hey Legend,

"Do. Or do not. There is no try." ~ Yoda

📝The stories I was telling myself were "I'm working on…" and "I'm trying to…"

This became clear to me in June 2017 when, after months of unconsciously affirming that I was "working on my flexibility" and "trying to do a dislocate", I recognized that I was perpetually approaching my goal, but never reaching it.

Interestingly, the verb '📝dislocate' means "to to throw out of order; to upset" but the noun 'dislocate' is "a maneuver on the rings in which a gymnast in an inverted pike position turns over to swing down while pushing the arms out and turning them so that the palms are facing out when the body turns over."

To dislocate is painful; a dislocate is beautiful. The simple difference is a commitment to the reality of the latter. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

When I realized this, I made a concerted effort to change my language. I began affirming things like "I am flexible and fluid" along with "I am doing a dislocate by my 30th birthday." I said these things aloud in front of my mirror, inwardly while meditating, and in conversation when friends asked of my progress.

Lo and behold, I did my first dislocate on my 30th birthday.

It was at this point that I realized the implications of what 📝Trevor Soares had been coaching me on for months; manufacturing belief with language.

I submitted my logical self to the belief that these 📝affirmation things had a tangible power and began stepping into my power as a 📝Manifestor. After months of paying attention to these 📝isms, I'd nearly eradicated them from my vocabulary and become aware enough to pause and correct my speech.

Despite the absence of those words, something remained.

A few months ago, while chatting over dinner, 📝John Zdanowski abruptly halted my explanation of 📝how something could happen to say,

"📝Stop working on it, but keep doing it."

John's interrupt reminded me that 📝it is our beliefs which become our destiny.

It can be hard to escape old beliefs and outdated patterns of thought on our own, but our friends are helpful reflectors. Since our more persistent patterns can test the patience of our friends... we created 📝Spiritual Bro.

Spiritual Bro website hero animation: Great Spirit, Simplified — Elevate the frequency of your writing with Spiritual Bro; your intention assistant.

The website, spiritualbro.com, is almost done and will be launching—along with the first version of the extension—in June. This 'spiritual software' will enable us to correct negatively charged language like "working on" and "trying to" before it can gain strength from being expressed outwardly (aka hitting 'send').

We've got a lot brewing for June and would love to hear your reflections of the site's language as this is—to our knowledge—the first ever 📝Spiritcheck.

I'm curious, what will you want your spiritual bro to stop you from saying?

📝Build cool shit and change the world.
