Mythos

Barbara Corcoran is an American real-estate 🏷️#entrepreneur, 🏷️#investor, 🏷️#author, and television personality, best known as the founder of The Corcoran Group — the New York City residential brokerage she sold to NRT in 2001 for $66 million — and as one of the original "sharks" on ABC's Shark Tank since the show's 2009 launch.

Corcoran built The Corcoran Group from a $1,000 loan in 1973 into one of the largest residential real-estate brokerages in New York City, structured around the polished neighborhood reports and design-forward marketing that helped reshape how Manhattan apartments were sold. She is the author of Use What You've Got, & Other Business Lessons I Learned from My Mom (2003) and Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business (2011), and runs an active early-stage investing practice anchored around her Shark Tank deal flow and a related podcast — Business Unusual with Barbara Corcoran — focused on operator advice for small-business founders.
