Sisun Lee is a 🏷️#cpg_founder and former 🏷️#product_manager, co-founder and CEO of More Labs — the consumer supplements company behind Morning Recovery. He built products at Facebook, Uber, and Tesla before leaving to run the company full time, and holds an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.
Lee developed the first version of Morning Recovery after working with USC researcher Jing Liang on dihydromyricetin, a compound studied for its effect on alcohol metabolism. He departed Tesla in 2017 to pursue it, launched on 📝Indiegogo, and cleared the campaign goal by more than tenfold. The company — incorporated as 82 Labs and later rebranded More Labs — has published its own retrospectives claiming roughly $1 million in the first three months and $33 million in brand revenue thereafter. The go-to-market was community-first: direct-to-consumer, iterated in public, and narrated in founder essays as it happened, a pattern widely copied by the functional-beverage brands that followed.
