Mythos

Hysterical Literature is a video art series by NYC-based, photographer and filmmaker Clayton Cubitt exploring feminism, mind/body dualism, distraction portraiture, and the contrast between culture and sexuality. It's also really fun to watch. [1]

The series features women reading poetry aloud while simultaneously masturbating with a Hitachi Magic Wand, the so-called “Cadillac of Vibrators." The session lasts as long as the reader. When the subject has an orgasm, she stops reading. The longest so far is 11 minutes and 42 seconds. [2]

It was launched in August 2012 and has been watched over 90 million times in 200 countries.
