Gino Blefari is an American real estate 🏷️#executive whose career spans nearly four decades in residential brokerage, from agent and broker-owner to the leadership of the country's largest brokerage operations. He built his reputation in Silicon Valley before rising to run national franchise and brokerage organizations under the Berkshire Hathaway umbrella. He currently serves as chairman emeritus of 📝HomeServices of America, having stepped down from its chief executive role in April 2025 while continuing in a strategic advisory capacity.
Blefari began selling real estate in the early 1980s and later founded Intero Real Estate Services in 2002, serving as its president and CEO and growing it into one of the fastest-organically-growing brokerages in the industry. After Berkshire Hathaway acquired Intero in 2014, he was named CEO of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices franchise brand, and in January 2019 he became CEO of the parent company, 📝HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary. He led that company until 2025 and remains an advisor to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices franchise network.
I brought Gino on Playmakers because he has sat at the top of the largest brokerage operation in the country — when someone has made calls at that scale, the reasoning behind them is the part worth hearing live and on the record.
