Shantanu Narayen is an American business executive who has served as chairman, president, and chief executive officer of 📝Adobe since December 2007. Under his leadership the company became one of the world's largest software makers, and he is widely credited with one of the defining business-model transformations in technology.
Narayen joined Adobe in 1998 as a vice president and general manager and rose to CEO in 2007. His signature move was transitioning Adobe from boxed, perpetual-license software to a subscription model built around 📝Creative Cloud, while expanding the company into digital marketing and analytics through the Experience Cloud and, more recently, into generative AI with 📝Firefly. In March 2026 he announced he will transition from the 🏷️#ceo role once a successor is named, remaining Chair of Adobe's board.
For eighteen years Shantanu has been our steady hand — the leader who reinvented how we deliver our tools and who kept creativity for all at the center as the company grew. This library carries his chapter of our story with the weight it deserves.
