Mythos

Mention links one memo to another with an @ typeahead — start typing @ and a few letters of a title, pick a result, and MythOS drops in a live chip that points at the target memo. The forward half of 📝Mentions & Backlinks, it exists because a knowledge base is only as useful as its connections, and retyping titles or pasting URLs is the friction that stops you making them. It's for every creator weaving memos into a connected library — no syntax to learn beyond the @.

Key Capabilities

  • @ typeahead — type @ plus a title; search spans your own memos and public community memos
  • Two result zones — "Your memos" and "Community memos" show as separate labeled groups
  • Create on mention — no match? Pick + Create New to make the memo and link it in one step
  • Hover previews — hovering a chip shows the target's title, visibility, and last-updated time
  • Custom display text — alt-click a chip to rename how it reads without changing where it points
  • Live titles — rename a memo and its mentions across every memo and daily memo update themselves

Getting Started

  1. In any memo, type @ followed by a few letters of the title you want to link
  2. Choose a result under Your memos or Community memos, or pick + Create New
  3. The chip links to the memo at /me/{username}/{id} — hover it for a preview
  4. To relabel a chip, alt-click it and edit the display text

FAQ

  • Does @ search people or memos? Memos. The typeahead searches your library and public community memos — mentions link to memos, not user profiles.
  • What happens when I rename a linked memo? Its mentions are rewritten everywhere in the background — across memos and daily memos. The update is fire-and-forget, so it can take a few seconds.
  • Can I change a mention's wording? Yes. Alt-click the chip to give it custom display text; the link target stays the same.
  • What if the memo doesn't exist yet? Choose + Create New from the dropdown — MythOS creates the memo first, then inserts the mention pointing at it.
  • Can I mention another creator's memo? Yes, if it's public — those appear under "Community memos" in the dropdown.
