Dear Crisis is a New York City community founded by πBenjamin Von Wong for people who refuse to navigate the metacrisis alone.
The community gathers activists, artists, and everyday people to make sense of the interconnected crises of the era β climate change, political polarization, institutional decay, economic inequality, loneliness, the erosion of trust β through in-person connection rather than more information. Its programming includes monthly Metacrisis Salons in Brooklyn, a creative incubator called The Creationship, and community-generated gatherings.
The premise is that the antidote to overwhelm is not more information but meaningful relationship: when people come together in the same room, crisis becomes a starting point rather than an endpoint. Dear Crisis extends the participatory logic of Von Wong's installations from art-making into everyday community β the monument, in this case, is the room itself.
