Keyboard Shortcuts move you around 📝Editor Core and the wider MythOS app without touching the mouse — search, navigate, create, and record, all from a single key combination. They exist so frequent actions stay fast as a library grows past the point where clicking through menus makes sense. They're for anyone who works primarily at the keyboard.
Key Capabilities
- Cmd/Ctrl+K — open the command palette to search and navigate anywhere
- Cmd/Ctrl+D — go to the daily journal
- Cmd/Ctrl+E — go to your memo feed
- Cmd/Ctrl+H — go to habits
- Cmd/Ctrl+[ / ] — go back / forward
- Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+M — create a new memo
- Cmd/Ctrl+J — toggle the floating AI chat
- Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+D — start or stop voice recording (daily journal and memo stats views)
Getting Started
Shortcuts work from anywhere in the app except while typing in a text field — with one exception: Cmd/Ctrl+K always opens the command palette, even from inside another input.
FAQ
- Do shortcuts work while I'm writing in a memo? Navigation shortcuts are disabled while focus is in a plain text input, but they remain active while your cursor is inside the memo editor itself.
- Is there a shortcut for search separate from the command palette? No — Cmd/Ctrl+K is the search and navigation surface; there's no separate search-only shortcut.
- Are these customizable? Not currently — the key combinations are fixed.
- Do Mac and Windows use different keys? No — Cmd (Mac) and Ctrl (Windows/Linux) trigger the same shortcuts.
