Notifications in 📝MythOS are the addressed-to-you half of 📝Analytics, Activity & Notifications — the inbox where someone else's action lands when it needs you to know, or to decide.
Most of what happens in a library does not need your attention, so notifications are deliberately narrow: a person did something involving your work, or your account needs a look. Anything that is merely a number belongs in analytics instead.
Everything actionable arrives here, which makes it the one surface a creator sharing memos or running a community genuinely has to check.
Key Capabilities
- A single inbox — every alert in one place, reached from the bell in the top bar
- Decide in place — approve or decline access requests, accept or decline collaborator invitations, follow back
- Comments and replies — when someone comments on your memo or replies to your comment
- Access and sharing — memo access requests and their outcomes, community join requests, library-sharing decisions
- Community activity — new followers and newsletter subscribers, and upvote milestones on your posts
- Account alerts — credits granted, AI budget thresholds crossed, and failed subscription payments
- Filter and sort — by type, by read or unread, newest or oldest first, or grouped by type
- Read and dismiss — mark one or all as read, and dismiss anything you are done with

FAQ
- Will I be notified when someone mentions me? Not yet. Mentioning a person — and notifying them — is planned for 📝Comments, where a reply is aimed at someone in particular. It is not planned for memo bodies, where an @mention links a memo rather than a person: those build the link graph and surface in backlinks, which is where to look for who is referencing your work.
- Can I choose which notifications I receive? Not yet — there is no notification preferences page. You can filter the inbox by type and dismiss anything you do not want to see, but delivery itself is not configurable.
- Which notifications also send an email? A few of the ones that need a response when you are away: someone requesting access to a private memo, a collaborator invitation, a request to manage your library, and AI budget alerts. The rest are in-app only.
- What is the difference between the bell and the inbox? The bell shows your most recent notifications for a quick scan. Decisions — approve, decline, accept — are made in the full inbox.
- What happens when I dismiss one? It leaves your inbox. Dismissing is not a decision: a pending access request or invitation stays pending until you act on it where it lives.
- Do notifications appear on my phone? Not as push notifications. MythOS notifications are in-app, so they appear when you open the site in a browser.
