John McKusick is an American 🏷️#entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of NextLeft, a San Diego digital marketing agency and certified B Corp that specializes in content marketing and search engine optimization. The agency works largely with purpose-driven organizations, including credit unions and nonprofits.
McKusick co-founded his first digital agency, Geary Interactive, in 1999 and served as its executive vice president, building performance marketing campaigns for national consumer brands before the agency was sold in 2012. He then became CEO of Universities.com, a publisher and lead generation company in the education sector, where he led a turnaround that expanded its client base and grew organic, paid, and affiliate traffic. His work there on content-driven acquisition shaped NextLeft's focus.
