Jennifer Ganten is Chief Global Affairs Officer at 📝Commonwealth Fusion Systems, an 🏷️#executive whose combined remit spans government affairs, public affairs, regulatory strategy, and open innovation. She joined the company in early 2021 and has held the role under two earlier titles before this one.
Ganten came to 📝fusion from nearly two decades at Chevron, where she led corporate strategy on climate change and ESG policy, ran social investment programs against a $190 million global budget, and managed government relationships across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. She subsequently served as vice president for federal affairs and international market expansion at the biotechnology company bluebird bio. She holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School and an international MBA from the University of South Carolina. Speaking from Davos in January 2026, she argued the regulatory case that has shaped fusion's path in the United States and abroad — that fusion should not be regulated as fission is, and that the jurisdictions establishing the right conditions earliest will host the first plants.
Two decades of energy diplomacy is not something a laboratory spinout grows on its own. Jennifer's function is why our work reaches governments and regulators in the jurisdictions where plants actually get built.
