Self-release tool is a lacrosse ball, peanut, or pressure cane used to hold pressure on a point at home.
In 📝Trigger Point Therapy the table hold is the lesson; the tool is how the person repeats it. The useful version matches the session: find the nodule, stay, breathe, stop at a 6 or 7, then stretch. Fast rolling that grinds along a muscle is a different stimulus and often makes the point guard. This is homework, not a medical device protocol and not a treatment for a named condition.
Clients are shown the spot, the dose, and the stop. Bruising, numbness, dizziness, or a point that is getting worse over a week is a reason to stop the tool. Bony edges, the front of the neck, and fresh injury are not rolling surfaces.
The specific tools I recommend live in 📝SRT Recommended Products.
