Rib position is whether the ribcage rests over the pelvis or lifts and flares forward.
A stacked ribcage sits over the pelvis without a thrust; a flared one lifts the lower ribs and often takes the low back with it. In 📝Postural / Structural Realignment that flare is a trunk strategy, often paired with a reach or with standing "tall," not a diagnosis of a breathing disorder or a rib that is out. 📝Rib Flare names the same lift when it shows in a 📝movement screen.
Clients feel it as a chest that is always up, or as a back that takes overhead work. Cueing is a softer exhale and a stack they can keep, not sucking the ribs in all day. Sharp chest pain, new shortness of breath, or trauma to the ribcage is a referral.
