Interoception is sensing internal states such as breath, heartbeat, and tension.
It is how the person knows they are hungry, braced, or settling. In πSomatic Practice the work is often to restore that channel in small doses β a breath, a foot, a jaw β because some people have learned not to feel. The word is a capacity, not a diagnosis of a sensory disorder, and not a claim to treat trauma. Too much inner attention can flood; then the work orients out to the room.
Clients feel it as "I didn't know my belly was tight." If tracking inside brings panic or shutdown, the dose is too much β look around, feel the chair. Persistent unexplained symptoms belong with licensed care.
