Mythos

Ashi point is a tender spot pressed wherever it is found, whether or not it sits on a mapped meridian.

In 📝Acupressure the hands can follow the map or follow tenderness. Ashi is the second: "oh yes" — the place that hurts when pressed. It is a finding, not a diagnosis, and not a claim that an unmapped spot is a hidden disease. Related in feel to a 📝tender point; the language here is the traditional one.

Clients feel a local ache. Sharp, numb, or panicky sensation is a stop. Fresh injury is skipped.
