Post-session soreness is a day or two of mild ache after deep work that fades on its own; sharp or lasting pain is not expected.
In πDeep Tissue Massage a worked region can feel used, like a hill walked, not injured. Heat, easy walking, and water usually settle it. Sharp pain, swelling, numbness, or an ache that is worse on day three is outside this description and is a reason to contact the practitioner and, if it persists, a licensed clinician. Soreness is not a proof that the work "got in," and the absence of soreness is not a proof that it failed.
Clients are told this before they leave so they can tell expected ache from a problem. Bruising that is tender to the touch is too much dose, not a badge.
A report of sharp or lasting pain is followed, not dismissed as normal.
