Upregulation is using faster or fuller breathing to raise energy and alertness.
In 📝Breathwork that is a chosen dose — a bit more cadence, a fuller inhale — not a hyperventilation protocol. The aim is more available energy, not tingling, dizziness, or panic. If those show up, the breath slows through the nose and the set ends. This practice does not run over-breathing methods.
Clients feel more charge in the room. Chest pain, fainting, or unexplained shortness of breath is a referral. After an upshift, a downshift (longer exhale or a sigh) is how the person leaves the session able to drive.
