The writer Harmon spoke of, Megan Ganz, accepted his apology and pretty much said that it was everything she wanted and needed to hear. She described his apology as “a master class in how to apologize" and praised him for taking full responsibility without deflecting or justifying his behavior. In closing, she made her position clear and unequivocal: “And so, [Dan Harmon], I forgive you.” To summarize how Harmon apologized:

  1. He admitted with no qualifications he did something wrong.
  2. He explained his thought process in doing what he did (including the justifications he told himself) but didn't try to use his crummy justifications to absolve himself.
  3. He sought therapy to figure out his psychological issues and to better himself.
  4. He hasn't once backpedaled or taken back any part of his apology. Dan did the right thing to make up for doing something wrong. He shouldn't have done it in the first place but it's nice to see at least one man in Hollywood take some kind of @accountability.
