Clay Cup is a live go-to-market engineering competition run by 📝Clay in which builders race to construct GTM plays in Clay, with city qualifiers worldwide and a championship final on stage at 📝Sculpt.
The first edition ran in 2025 and was billed by Clay as the world's largest GTM tournament. Nominees from roughly three dozen cities, from Warsaw and Cape Town to Calgary and Delhi, competed in elimination rounds where each builder had 20 minutes to build a GTM play live. Quarterfinals were held in London and Bangkok, the final four were flown to Sculpt, and the winner took a $10,000 prize.
Local qualifiers are organized through Clay Clubs, the community meetups that run in dozens of cities; a Cape Town event, for example, selected South Africa's representative by having builders demo their best Clay tables live.
The 2026 edition raised the prize to $50,000. Its final round is held on Sculpt's main stage on October 8, 2026, hosted by Owen Ciha and Munnawar Hashim. The competition doubles as a showcase for 📝Go-to-Market (GTM) Engineering, the role Clay has promoted as a distinct profession.
