@Brian Swichkow thinking out loud here. So we're trying to finalize the contract with Minds to study their users. We can study twitter users and reddit users with a survey, we could survey Minds users too, and we could just use other recruitment pools to study users. It would be REALLY interesting to study community interaction and perceived loneliness in different settings. Topia creates a kind of neighborhood that you can embody in a physical computer space like reddit does in a network community space where facebook and twitter are lacking there. It might be interesting if topia were down for it to do a study of how people interact with their platform. Obviously not a rush or big priority but just saw a paper on community interaction and coming together being a way to foster identification and lower loneliness and increase happiness and stuff and Topia came to mind.
Intro
This survey is designed to gather data on the users of different social media platforms and how they interact with others in their community. It will ask you questions about which platforms you use, how often you use them, and then some additional questions about how you feel personally and how you feel about the communities you are part of. The data will be stored and used only for internal research purposes, and isn’t going to be sold. Regardless of where you live, you’ll have full GDPR rights to protect your data, if you think you don’t want your data to be part of our study in the future, just email us and we’ll delete it, no questions asked.
