Mythos

The Iliad Bookshop is an independent used bookstore in North Hollywood, California, which bills itself as one of Southern California's largest and oldest, stocking more than 125,000 books with an emphasis on literature and the arts.

Founder Dan Weinstein opened the store in 1987 next door to a video store called The Odyssey, later saying he couldn't resist the idea of shops with those names doing business side by side. The shop occupies the corner of Chandler and Cahuenga boulevards at 5400 Cahuenga Blvd, pairing its stock with the amenities of a neighborhood institution: free parking, couches for browsing, and a knowledgeable staff.

Alongside 📝The Last Bookstore downtown, the Iliad anchors the used-book landscape of Los Angeles.
