Mythos

G Suite mail delegation is a Gmail Admin console setting that lets a 📝Google Workspace user grant another account access to read, send, and manage email on their behalf without sharing login credentials.

An administrator enables the capability at the domain level — from the Google Admin console, under Apps, Google Workspace, Gmail, then User Settings, checking Mail Delegation and saving — after which individual users can delegate their own inbox access from within Gmail's settings. The feature is commonly used for executive assistants managing a manager's inbox, shared team mailboxes, or handoffs during leave, and is distinct from full account access since a delegate cannot change the account's password or security settings.
