Mythos

From 📝Justin Lane, PhD;

I poked around the ontology a bit earlier and was looking for the key features that trigger things regarding fairness as a virtue (we also have fairness as a vice, which is almost like a negative fairness).For words/concepts that increase the measure of fairness there are things like:Equity, Balance, Egalitarian, Evenness, Fair, Fairplay, Honest, Impartial, Justified, Reasonable, Unbiased, UnprejudicedAs well as phrases that would include things like “she is a just person” or “he is really fair” (so it differentiates between the term “just” meaning “just like this” or “its just a flesh wound” and the more moral contribution to the phrase “they are just”.There are counterbalanced terms as well that would be negative there such as “unjust”, “dishonest”, “biased”, or “uneven”.Regarding our ability to create a system that would look at archetypes, I think this would be plausible. We could combine those features that we believe define an archetype, so adding fairness as a virtue and harm as a vice to create a “wise man/woman” archetype, or looking at fairness vice, harm vice, and authority vice along with low levels of social commitment or inclusion to create a sort of “trickster” motif. Some archetypes, like “Hero” will be a bit more difficult to define, but I think we could put our heads together and bootstrap something together even 😊I’m currently running through the data on the documentaries subreddit like we were discussing. Looking forward to showing you guys what we come up with. Sometime early next week perhaps? I’m pretty swamped until then (unless Sunday is an option for you guys).
