Grateful for You was the first email sent in the The Journey To One series.
Grateful for You
Hey Legend,
Thank you for welcoming my wacky, nebulous experiment into your inbox. The Journey To One will explore many things, but it started with your support. Some of you have been friends for years, while others I've just met. You all said 'Yes' to the same thing—for that resonance, I am grateful.
Some of these emails will be short, this is long. If you feel you should read it, read it. If you feel you should skim it, skim it. If you stop here, thank you for making it this far. Whatever you do, do You.
Ok, so, if you haven't already, watch Bandersnatch on Netflix. It's the Black Mirror feature film that was built as a Choose Your Own Adventure. It's their first Interactive Television project and will make any sane person question their reality. Saying more would risk spoiling the plot. Watch it.
The Bandersnatch experience demonstrates how our reality is created by our perception. As Alan Watts put it, "📝You do nothavea sensation of the sky, youarethat sensation."
The film is unique because, unlike most of today's mediums for content and communication, the reality adapts to those who perceiving it. Social platforms beg for interaction but they are not interactive. Communication happens in a series of volleys. You comment, they respond.
A face-to-face conversation, however, is a kind of co-created reality. The 📝Energy, Frequency, and Vibration of those participating combine to create something that no individual could make alone. In nature, this is called Emergence; when "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts."
Why does it feel that this is lost in digital communication? It has seemed, to me, to be the result of lacking dimensions. Our minds don't create or recall in a direct pattern of events, yet, this is how our mediums force us to communicate, and how we are communicated to... in straight, static lines.
Nothing in nature is static and nothing is a straight line. Whether you're looking at an individual atom or the whole of the Observable Universe, it is chaotic, connected, and happening all at once.
We built Mythos One not knowing what it was supposed to become. Honestly, we're still not entirely sure. At present, we're calling it Nonlinear Communication. The Journey to One is an experiment in perception and—much like the Universe—isn't about You or me, it's about Us.
I am grateful for You because it's You that makes 'I' become Us.
Only together, do We become One.
I'm curious to hear your reflections and share resonance. And please, anywhere along this journey, let me know if there's anything I can do to help you find or amplify your frequency.
