Austin Riedel is a Los Angeles–based 🏷️#software-engineer and the 🏷️#founder of Build With ARC, a spec-driven development platform for teams shipping backend APIs on 📝Amazon Web Services (AWS). He has spent about a decade building backend systems where correctness is non-negotiable, including services at 📝Amazon, a fraud-prevention platform at Signifyd, and a full product shipped as a startup CTO.
Build With ARC treats an OpenAPI specification as the contract from which an entire backend is generated. Its platform pairs ARCitect, an agentic IDE that turns natural-language intent into validated OpenAPI, with ARC Code Reactor, a generator that produces handlers, data access, IAM, CI/CD, and contract tests in a single pass — an approach Riedel frames as "move fast and break nothing." Before founding the company he was a technical lead at Amazon and a staff engineer at Signifyd, with earlier roles at Owl Cameras and IBM. He studied at San Diego State University and the University of Oxford and trained as an engineer at Hack Reactor.
