Salim Ismail is a Canadian-American technology executive, ๐ท๏ธ#speaker, and ๐ท๏ธ#author best known as the founding Executive Director of Singularity University and the author of Exponential Organizations (2014), which codified the framework of small, rapidly scalable companies using exponentially growing technologies to outperform much larger incumbents.
Earlier in his career Ismail served as a Vice President at Yahoo, where he built and ran Brickhouse, Yahoo's internal incubator, and founded or operated several early-stage technology companies including PubSub Concepts (which laid early foundations for the real-time web) and Angstro, which was acquired by ๐Google in August 2010. He continues to serve as Singularity University's Global Ambassador, advises Fortune 500 executives and governments on the operational implications of exponential technologies, and runs OpenExO, the consulting and certification network built around the ExO methodology.
