Sequencer is a feature of 📝Clay that runs cold outbound campaigns from the workspace's own data: dynamic lead lists from 📝Audiences (Clay), signals, or Clay's people database, AI-personalized copy, purchased sending domains and inboxes with warm-up, auto-drafted replies, and campaign analytics. Version 2.0, live since August 2026, exists because outbound teams were exporting enriched rows into a separate sequencer such as 📝Smartlead or 📝Instantly and losing the data loop; Clay now fulfils inbox orders through Smartlead and Zapmail behind the scenes but bills everything in Clay credits. It is built for growth and demand-generation teams on paid Clay plans who want sourcing, enrichment, sending, and replies in one system.
Key Capabilities
- Always-on lead sourcing — dynamic lead and exclusion lists refresh continuously, so accounts enter a campaign when they fit the criteria and leave when they stop fitting.
- Context-driven copy — templates with AI snippets decide what gets personalized, drawing on data from Clay's 200-plus providers and a per-campaign Claygent with skills and context.
- Purchased inboxes and domains — buy alternative domains and up to five accounts per domain with credits, priced against about $4.50 per account per month and $15 per domain per year.
- Reply flows — inbound replies are auto-drafted for approval before sending, and variant tests, spam checks, and per-campaign credit budgets sit alongside analytics.
- Agent-editable campaigns — the
clay campaignsCLI creates campaigns and edits sequences, variants, and Claygent context, while launch, pause, and completion stay in the app.
Getting Started
