George Noory is an American radio 🏷️#broadcaster who has hosted Coast to Coast AM — the syndicated overnight talk program devoted to the paranormal, conspiracy theory, fringe science, and the unexplained — since 2003. Born in Detroit in 1950, he graduated from the University of Detroit in communications and built a conventional television-news career first: news producer and executive news producer at WJBK-TV, then, at twenty-eight, the youngest major-market news director in the country at KMSP-TV in Minneapolis, and later news director at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, collecting three Emmy Awards as a news executive.
His route to the overnight chair ran through The Nighthawk, a late-night program he hosted on KTRS in St. Louis, which brought him to the attention of Premiere Networks and a guest-hosting slot under Art Bell. Noory became permanent host on January 1, 2003, following Bell's retirement, inheriting a format Bell had largely invented. The program now airs on more than six hundred stations across North America and is the most-listened-to show in the overnight daypart — a position that makes Noory the primary mainstream broadcast interface for material most outlets do not cover at all.
